Glidden Point oysters are renowned for their heavy shell, and beautiful appearance. We grow Glidden Points slowly, and in the nutrient-rich depths of the Damariscotta River, a world class growing environment. We start Glidden Point oysters from seed and grow them in upwellers and floating bags on the surface of the river until they reach the appropriate size to be planted on the leases at the bottom of the river. It is there, up to 40 ft below at our deepest site, that they develop their hefty shell, and mature to market size after 3-4 years. We don't rush the process.
All Glidden Point oysters are harvested by hand, and often by scuba diver. We touch our oysters every step of the way, and it's the care we take, whether it's grading seed, diving, or culling, that produces a premium oyster we're proud to share with you, and proud to call our own.

Glidden point topsiders
Ordered 3 dozen topsiders for Christmas Eve and while I did not open any of them the person who did commented how clean they were. We were a group of ten people, mostly in-laws, I was happy that everyone thought these were the best oysters they ever had.
When we are able to get my whole family together, we especially love to treat ourselves to some oysters to help celebrate. We love the Glidden Point cocktails as they have always been delivered in great condition and have always been plump and briney-delicious. This Xmas we tried the Topsiders rather than the usual cocktails as the count in an order worked better for us. They were delicious as well and would consider them again.
Glidden pt is my pearl
Glidden point has been my go to for delicious oysters on several occasions. The deliveries have been exceptional for the always fresh oysters. I’m in Az so fresh is a big deal. I’ve never been to the northeast coast, and now that I have a taste I’m definitely going to make sure I visit.
