The roots of Maine Aquaculture started with true pioneers, hardy folk, salts of the earth; people who didn't take no for an answer; who weren't afraid to fail, to try again, to kill millions of oysters before getting them to market. It was a steep learning curve, but we persisted. It's taken some time, but we've got the good stuff now. There's something special growing here in this corner of New England, and as many more curious souls quietly return to the sea to try their hand and their luck at an honest living growing an oyster that is unique and keeping the working waterfront alive, we're finding the best and making it available to you. Introducing Maine Oyster Month, where we'll be featuring the oysters of our friends and neighbors, a different oyster for each week in September.
