GLIDDEN POINT SELECTS - CHRISTMAS ORDER
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND
Glidden Point oysters are renowned for their heavy shell, and beautiful appearance. We grow Glidden Points slowly, and in the nutrient-rich depths of the Damariscotta River, a world class growing environment. We start Glidden Point oysters from seed and grow them in upwellers and floating bags on the surface of the river until they reach the appropriate size to be planted on the leases at the bottom of the river. It is there, up to 40 ft below at our deepest site, that they develop their hefty shell, and mature to market size after 3-4 years. We don't rush the process.
All Glidden Point oysters are harvested by hand, and often by scuba diver. We touch our oysters every step of the way, and it's the care we take, whether it's grading seed, diving, or culling, that produces a premium oyster we're proud to share with you, and proud to call our own.
The difference between cocktails and selects are merely size preference. Cocktails are 2.5-3" while Selects are 3-3.5"+.
- Ships in counts of 36 or 50
- Size: 3.5+"
Very happy with my pre-order. Arrived on time and good as always. I'm ready for more GPT Selects.
A Delicious Taste of Maine
Getting oysters delivered to my home from Glidden Point is 5 stars from start to finish. The website is easy to use, the descriptions of the oysters on offer are mouth-watering and informative, delivery goes off without a hitch, packaging is clean, attractive and protective, and, most importantly, the oysters are delicious. We are so grateful that we are able to have this very special taste of Maine at home, to share with friends and family, and to be able to support a business and an industry that is a win-win for the environment, the people of coastal Maine, and us! Thank you, Glidden Point!
