Norumbega Oysters are known for their hardy bottom cultured Damariscotta Oyster staple. Eric Peters is trying his hand at surface cultured product to carry them through the hard winter months, where diving is nearly unthinkable. Eric has been farming Norumbegas in the Damariscotta River since 2006. He’s an integral part of the oyster community on the river and is constantly working hard to deliver some of the best oysters around.

Technique: Surface cultured--started from seed to and grown out to market grade in floating bags on the surface of the river.
Appearance: Pleasantly well-shaped round shells
Flavor: Strong brine, clean taste, mineral finish
