Nonesuch Oysters

$100

Grown by Nonesuch Oyster Company, our sister farm located within a nature conservancy at the confluence of the Nonesuch and Scarborough River at Nonesuch Point in Scarborough, Maine. The site is sandy, shallow, and right next door to one of Maine largest salt marshes. Nonesuch are very salty and full of flavor due to their proximity to both the marsh and the Atlantic Ocean. The environment is a perfect growing area for oysters, and the warm brackish waters are full of nutrients for the oysters to feed on.

Chris Osborne Order #15949

I am generally please with this recent order (#15949). I believe it is my 3rd order in the last few months. For this order/product, the 36 oysters were quite varied in size and my main issue was that on about 1/3 of them, when I was opening them at the hinge, the oyster shell was really brittle and pieces would crack off all around the hinge, making them difficult to open.
