Heafitz Farm Oysters

Heafitz Farm Oysters are grown in collaboration with Glidden Point Oyster Farms and Midcoast Conservancy in the Sheepscot River. The conservancy is responsible for placing over 14,000 acres of land into conservation  in the Medomak River, Sheepscot River, and Damariscotta Lake watersheds. It was a natural next step and partnership for the organizations to pair up and grow oysters together. Proceeds from Heafitz Farm Oysters benefit Midcoast Conservancy's land and water conservation work. 

Heafitz Farm Oysters are surface cultured, grown in the Sheepscot River just west of the Damariscotta. The Sheepscot is a larger estuary with greater saline input than the Damariscotta due to the breadth of the river mouth to the Atlantic Ocean, giving them a strong briney punch.
