These pretty petites take after their namesake with a piny (sometimes purple, mossy, caramel, or kelp-like) hued shell. Recognizable rounded shells, near tear-drop form. Think essence of secret, coastal forest meets the rugged coast. Their dynamic growing waters, the Nonesuch River, flow through & feed Maine’s largest salt marsh ecosystem. These quiet, estuarine waters offer vegetal notes of seagrasses & slow tides. Subtle complexity.
Grown with tender love & care by our crew at Nonesuch Oyster Farm. Surface-cultured in floating bags. Flipped and culled regularly throughout the growing season. Harvested at around two years.
